The goals were clear: they wanted light-filled workspaces, intuitive organization, and spaces for collaboration. Most importantly, they wanted to create a place that reflected the nature of what they do, and where clients could come and "roll up their sleeves" to join the process. Organized around three powerful yet simple planning gestures, the design captures the firm's strong brand, but adds a regional twist. The first planning idea was to utilize a simple axial layout with strong defined circulation paths, each terminating at natural light. The second principle, which recognizes that design is at the center of everything we do, was to center "design pubs," in each wing for maximum accessibility and collaboration. Finally, a strong "client corridor", which ties together a variety of venues to support presentations and work sessions, is set at the heart of the space and helps emphasize that the client experience is critical to the way the firm conducts business. The results proved to be immensely successful. The collaborative efforts of the design team, combined with regional influences and the architectural firm's strong brand presence, have helped the Dallas office create a perfect home that supports the energy and creativity of those who work within it and merges the staff's passion for design and the servicing of their clients and community.
