A morning breakfast event featuring keynote speaker Dan Heath and honoring Steve Stelzer, AIA, LEED AP
The Texas Oklahoma Chapter of the International Interior Design Association is pleased to announce the debut of the highly coveted Leaders Breakfast Series to Houston. This year's event will be held on the morning of Wednesday, May 12th at The Junior League of Houston.
The Leaders Breakfast program serves to bridge the gap between the design industry and the business leaders in the region. Our goal is to build on the success of the Dallas Leaders Breakfast series to create a premier Houston event that you will want to invite your clients and colleagues to attend.
You will have the opportunity to mingle with design leaders and business innovators, and join in honoring leaders within the community. In addition to Houston, breakfast programs will be held in New York, Boston, Chicago, Kansas City, San Francisco, Seattle and Toronto.

KEYNOTE SPEAKER
This year have breakfast with Dan Heath, Harvard Business Graduate, Fast Company Columnist and co-author of New York Times Bestsellers Made to Stick: Why Some Ideas Survive and Others Die and Switch: How to Change Things When Change is Hard.
There are changes and easy changes. What distinguishes one from the other? Is it possible to turn a hard change into an easy change? Dan Heath Thinks so.
In Made to Stick authors Chip and Dan Heath say: The Primary obstacle is a conflict that's built into our brains. Psychologists have discovered that our minds are ruled by two different systems - the rational mind and the emotional mind - that compete for control. The rational mind wants to change something at work; the emotional mind loves the comfort of the existing routine. This tension can doom a change effort - but if it is overcome, change can come quickly.
Dan is a Senior Fellow at Duke University's CASE Center, and also a columnits for Fast Company magazine. Dan has an MBA from Harvard Business School, and a BA from the Plan II Honors Program from the University of Texas at Austin.
Join us for breakfast as he shares some of the most fascinating finding of modern psychology and shows us how to put them in use in our own lives and work. |
