Marmon Mok Architecture, a leading Texas architectural practice, seeks talented individuals for our office. The preferred candidate(s) will have demonstrated interior design experience and be passionate about elevating people and communities through the thoughtful, beautiful, and impactful design of buildings!

Description:

Registered interior designer, full-time, mid-career (appx. 10-15 years of experience).

This position requires: a strong understanding of interior architecture building materials, finishes, furnishings, systems, trends, technology, and delivery methods. You should possess an ability to work in a team environment with consultants and maintain client communications and expectations, taking responsibility for the complete integration of design and technical aspects of a project. Strong Revit expertise preferred.

Experience with municipal/civic, commercial, and/or healthcare projects strongly preferred.

Responsibilities:

·        Meet with clients and user-groups to prepare a building program, including space planning studies, adjacency diagrams, and stacking diagrams, that meet the goals of the client.

·        Collaborate with architectural design team to create a strong design concept, including appropriate material and color palettes, and shepherd the design vision through project completion.

·        Plan workspace layouts/floor plans to meet project needs, with a focus on flow, efficiency, and wellness.

·        Sculpt interior spaces, including specification for finishes/materials, lighting, artwork and furnishings.

·        Assume responsibility for preparing interior construction details in Revit.

·        Prepare FFE documents for projects, and coordinate with vendors.

·        Prepare design presentations, including physical material boards, 2d renderings, PowerPoint presentations, and oral presentations to clients.

·        Communication with other Marmon Mok team members including specification writers to identify appropriate finishes, systems, and manufacturers, and incorporate the requirements in the technical documentation.

·        Coordinate with other team members, including consultants, contractors, fabricators, and regulatory agencies to meet project objectives.

·        Review of submittals and finish samples as well as value engineering efforts to maintain design intent.

Qualifications

Skill Set:

·        Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, Architecture, or related field from an accredited school.

·        10+ years of related commercial interior design experience.

·        Registered Interior Designer status in Texas preferred.

·        NCIDQ or CID Certification required.

·        Fluency in Revit required.

·        Knowledgeable about trends in wokplace planning, healthcare planning, including change management, wellness, and sustainability.

·        Interest in current design trends and familiarity with contemporary designers

·        Strong working knowledge of  InDesign, SketchUp, Bluebeam, and Photoshop preferred.

·        Knowledge of systems furniture and other furnishings, finishes, and materials

·        Familiarity and existing relationships with commercial furnishings manufacturers, regional vendors, and local installers.

·        Strong design and visual communication skills.

·        Detailed understanding of FF&E design, specifications, deliverables, and procurement.

·        LEED or WELL AP a plus.
